Coaches Clearance Process

Spirit United requires that all coaches and trainers update their clearances every 2 years.

You will also need to complete the EPYSA Online Risk Management Application.

The two clearances that are required are:
1. Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History
2. PA Child Abuse Clearance

The process to get these clearances is as follows:

1. The first clearance you must apply for is the Criminal History clearance. This should be done on line by logging onto the PA State Police ePatch system at:

https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp

You should go through this on line form and submit it along with a $10 credit card payment.
Once you receive your results, you need to print out two copies of this: hold one to turn back to the club, and attach the other to step #2 as outlined below.

2. Once you have results from the ePatch system, you should attach a copy to the Child Abuse form, which you should print out from the following link:

PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

Send both your completed Child abuse form and your results from your criminal history along with a money order for $10 back to the State Police.
You should receive your form back in about 5 weeks.

Once you have received the child abuse form back from the state please make a copy and keep the originals for your files.

3. Send copy of child abuse form and the criminal history form to the club:

Spirit United
PO Box 156
Downingtown, PA 19335

All SUSC coaches and trainers must have a current "Request for Criminal Record Check" and "PA Child Abuse History Clearance."
You need to do this every two years. Any questions, please contact Joe Levan at
JMLevan@comcast.net.

For teams registering with US Club Soccer, you will also need to complete the Coach Risk Assessment.
