DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

General Information

The SUSC Developmental Soccer Program is designed for children of all abilities. This program is designed to promote fun, friendship, and teamwork while focusing on the developing soccer player.

Spring and Fall Outdoor Leagues

Spirit offers both a Fall and Spring outdoor league open to children in Pre-K (obtaining the age of 4 during the season) through the seventh grade. Games, practices and clinics are held in the Downingtown/Coatesville area. The league consists of a practice each week, a clinic under the guidance of professional soccer trainers, and games on Saturdays. Boys and girls are assigned to teams based on their age using the age group classifications recommended by the United States Soccer Federation. We utilize a small-sided game format that prevents the "herd ball" so often seen in Recreational soccer.

SUSC offers a unique developmental opportunity to the younger teams in the league. Weekly clinics under the direction of professional trainers and highly experienced SUSC coaches, augmented by area high school coaches and players, specifically designed to enhance the participants' skills and enjoyment of the game of soccer. These clinics focus on developing fundamental soccer skills (e.g.: ball striking, dribbling, passing, etc.)...and FUN !!!

Games for the Fall season begin the Saturday following Labor Day. The Spring season begins in April.

Proof of Age: To participate in the Developmental/Recreational Program, proof of age must be verified. Proof may be verified with a birth certificate, passport, or government issued identification card. Proof of age need only be presented the first time a child is registered.

Each player that registers after the deadline will be charged a $25.00 late fee.

Teams will be put together in early March (Spring) or August (fall) and the coaches will be notified of their teams. Practices will be held one night a week for one hour. Practice days will be determined by the coach after the teams have been formed.
